Beautiful Cased 9Th Plate Ruby Ambrotype Union SoldierUp for bid is a beautiful ninth plate ruby ambrotype image of a civil war soldier. As you can see in the scans, this is a very clear focused image with nice contrast. This anonymous soldier is likely an early war union volunteer. He is wearing a light colored state-issued forage cap and frock coat. His cheeks are tinted pink and buttons gilt. The image is housed in its original case whcih is seperated at the hinge (which is typical). A beautiful image!Please email me with any questions.
